1. Nature of Service / Role
1.1 SettlementFinder.ca is a lawyer-referral and lead-generation platform. We connect individuals who submit accident or injury details with independent, licensed Canadian personal-injury lawyers for possible consultation.
1.2 We are not a law firm, and the content on the Site does not constitute legal advice.
1.3 The referral of your information to lawyers does not establish an attorney-client relationship between you and SettlementFinder. Any lawyer you speak with is an independent party.
2. Eligibility & Use
2.1 You must be at least the age of majority in your province to use the Service.
2.2 You must provide accurate, complete, and truthful information when responding to quiz questions or forms.
2.3 You agree not to misuse the Service, including attempting to reverse-engineer, exploit, or interfere with its functioning.
3. User Information & Consent
3.1 By submitting your information, you consent to our Privacy Policy, collection, use, and disclosure of your data for lawyer referral purposes.
3.2 You authorize us and our law-firm partners to contact you (phone, SMS, email) concerning your inquiry, including automated or prerecorded communications, unless you withdraw consent.
3.3 You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing [email protected], though this may limit our ability to assist you.
4. No Guarantees / Disclaimers
4.1 While we take steps to qualify leads, we do not guarantee that any lawyer will accept your case, that you will receive compensation, or that any outcome will occur.
4.2 We make no warranties—express or implied—as to the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of information on the Site.
4.3 You agree to hold us harmless for any acts or omissions of lawyers to whom your information is referred.
5. Limitation of Liability
5.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, SettlementFinder and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site.
5.2 In no event will our liability to you exceed CAD $1,000 (or a lower amount mandated by applicable law), regardless of cause of action.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and defend SettlementFinder, its affiliates, and partners from all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and costs (including legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 All content, logos, designs, graphics, software, and trademarks on the Site are owned by or licensed to SettlementFinder and are protected by intellectual property laws.
7.2 You may not reproduce, modify, sell, or distribute any portion of the Site without prior written permission.
8. External Links & Third Parties
The Site may contain links to third-party sites, tools, or services over which we have no control. We are not responsible for those external resources or their content.
9. Termination & Suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, without notice, for any conduct we deem harmful or in breach of these Terms.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
10.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
10.2 Any dispute arising under or relating to these Terms must be resolved by the competent courts in Toronto, Ontario.
11. Amendments
We may modify or update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page with a new Effective Date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance.
